America’s Ongoing Defiance of Almighty God

In America’s pride and arrogance, this country reaps what it sows (Gal 6:7–8). The United States of America boasts of its freedom, but her citizens are slaves to sin (Jn 8:34; Rom 6:6, 16–20). “One nation under God” claims the house divided against itself; and which one of America’s gods is referenced on the deflated currency of this corrupt democracy? Why does this nation rage against God and His anointed (Ps 2:1–2)? Who can deliver the people of the United States from God’s wrath to come (Mt 3:7; Lk 3:7)?

Wrath for what you may ask? How many categories of ill-repute must we consider for you, my dear reader? Who is the world leader in pornography, gluttony, gun violence, war mongering, materialism, mental illness, national debt, and the creation of religious cults?

In Romans 13, we learn that God establishes governments for law and order, but your “Defund the Police” movement only tells us of your hatred for God (Rom 1:30). This is true for your rampant sexual immorality, used to advertise almost every product or service. In defiance, your sexual deviance demonstrates the extent of your idolatry. As worshipers of demons, the spirits dominating the American landscape, do you think it will go well for you as a nation?

In fact, you already have evidence of God’s displeasure with your peevish behavior. Do you think you can legislate morality while you legislate immorality? O double-minded nation, you have a serious heart condition. You are unable to discern right from wrong.

In destroying your families, you have destroyed your communities, and with utter lack of responsibility, you want others to give you a free ride through life. In which harbor will you finally build the statue of responsibility? Your “liberty” and your “independence” has left you spiritually, morally, and financially bankrupt as a nation.

Where are God’s people in your midst, America? O people of God, you have embraced and even promoted sin with your neighbors and called it “love” and “tolerance.” You have spurned the Law of God in preference for the twisted laws of reprobate representatives of hell. God has opened America’s borders and every demon-inspired religion of the world has found its way to your shores. This has only exacerbated the evil already within you.

As darkness shrouds America in this present evil age, where are the true Gospel preachers who will tell Americans the truth? Christian nationalism and its manifest destiny is unbiblical. Still, as your leaders sell out to globalism and the one world government, do you even know how biblical that ideal is…for evil? You do not understand because you do not know the Bible, as God’s revealed Word of truth. O preachers, where are you?

You love the darkness, America, because your deeds are evil (Jn 3:19). Increasingly, the inclination of your heart, as a nation, is only evil all the time (Gen 6:5). God has provided the technology for you to be monitored day and night. Has this improved your behavior or has your recorded evil deed gone viral yet?

Who will convince you to repent of your rebellion against God (Acts 17:30)…as a nation? It would take an army of truth tellers, preaching God’s Word in the Spirit (1 Cor 2:2, 4), and with God’s design for national revival. There is no other hope for your querulous ways. You have played the harlot like so many nations and empires before you. Now, God has given you demented “leaders” who daily add to the chaos with their mindless gibberish. Do you even know who is authoring your confusion?

My dear reader, you must know this is not going well and with rampant escalations of ungodliness on display, the restraint of evil has been retracted. The devil’s assault on America is fierce, as it has been in the past. As Christians, we must not be silent. Proclaiming the cross of Christ is our only hope for living in relative peace and freedom to worship our Lord Jesus Christ. We must faithfully proclaim Him in our homes, churches, and communities. There is no other way to reformation and revival for the citizens of this nation. We must fear God and only a view to God’s justice and mercy will produce this humble attitude.

Let us put on Christ and the whole armor of God (Rom 13:14; Eph 6:10–20). Let us be found faithful in our generation and in the place of God’s choosing for us. Faithful Christians in American history have left us a legacy that we honor and need to emulate. What this country and all nations need is more light from heaven.

For our lights to shine brighter, we need to pray for the fruit of the Spirit — faithfulness — to manifest (Gal 5:22). Our time in prayer, the study of God’s Word, fellowship and worship at local gatherings of the saints, and our celebrating Christ’s victory with the sacraments will encourage us and others.

A reminder that each one of us has a vaporous life (Jas 4:14). We are instructed to redeem the time during these evil days (Eph 5:16), so that we may rightly receive those words of welcome, “Well done, good and faithful slave…enter the joy of the Lord (Mt 25:23).”

In conclusion, we must remember that our brief time as Americans is nothing compared to our eternity as citizens of heaven (Phil 3:20). The kingdom of God is your best investment for the future (Lk 16:9). This idea of a country and this world is passing away. Examine your use of time, money, and gifting. Whatever you do…do it all for the glory of God, in labor of love for your King and better country.
