Contestant #1: The Gospel of Jesus Christ

Christ is God

Christ is Lord

Christ is King

Christ is Savior

Christ is all in all

Christ is Mediator

Contestant #2: The false gospel of Jesus Christ

You need to decide for Christ

You need to choose Christ

You need to ask Jesus into your heart

You need muster up faith in Jesus

You need to pray the sinner’s prayer

You need to come forward to receive Jesus

Both contestants have something to say about Jesus, but contestant #1 and contestant #2 are radically different messages when they are preached. As you sing worship songs, ask yourself, “Who is the subject of this song me/us or Jesus?” Likewise, when you sit through a sermon, ask yourself, “Who is the subject of the imperative actions? me/us or Jesus?”

The Gospel of Jesus Christ will never have you as the subject. Christ is the subject, otherwise it is false preaching and idolatrous worship.
