The Futility of Your Hatred for God and His Chosen People
God created all things as they are, to perform their duties as they should. His eternal will is decreed, to be executed by His providence. Even the wicked are made for the day of evil (Prv 16:4).
Have you considered why you harbor such angst toward Yahweh, the God the Bible and God of the universe? Why does the name “Jesus Christ” rile such raw emotion from you? Why do you support censoring His people in schools and on social media platforms?
First, let me encourage you that you are doing the most natural thing when you harbor hatred and sometimes act on it. How are you feeling right now as you read these words?
Second, let me assure you that everyone you know started life in the exact position you are in, today. The Bible teaches us that we are conceived in sin. We actually inherit sin from our first parents, Adam and Eve. It is our very nature to act in rebellion against God and His Hoy Law. In fact, the more people learn about God’s Law, the more they want to sin against God (Rom 5:20).
Third, because the Law of God exposes all people for being guilty sinners, it is natural for criminals to blame the Law or the Lawgiver. Sinners insist they are victims of an unfair system, orchestrated by God against them. Where did they get this idea?
Satan, the devil, the father of lies, hates humanity. Man, male and female, was made in the image of God. Reproduction of that image is God’s design. Man was told from the beginning, “Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth.” This is a total affront to the ruler of this world and his evil world system. Satan’s worst enemy is the truth, which is why the children of the devil do all they can to suppress the truth (Rom 1:18).
You must be wondering how man, made in God’s image, received the new title, “children of the devil (1 Jn 3:10)”? When Adam and Eve went rogue and suffered the consequences God promised them, they forfeited the dominion over the earth God had entrusted to them. Satan, the one who deceived them became the god of this world (2 Cor 4:4). Lying to Adam and Eve, the devil even promised them they, too, would be like gods if they rebelled against their Maker (Gen 3:5).
The history of the world is riddled with Adam and Eve’s lawless posterity. Every sin known to man is practiced and even promoted by those who follow Satan, their father’s example. In fact, every inclination of their heart is only evil all the time. Their hearts are wicked and deceitful above all else and their deeds are evil. Simply put, the natural man loves darkness (Jn 3:19).
In the midst of humanity’s mess, God did something wonderful. As was His predetermined plan, God sent His only begotten Son into the world to save His people from their sins (Mt 1:21; Jn 3:16). In this act of mercy, Jesus was crucified on a Roman cross at the hands of evil men. What they meant for evil, God meant for good. The perfect, sinless Lamb of God (Jesus) died in the place of His chosen yet sinful people. He bore our sins in His body on the cross (1 Pet 2:24), and by His precious blood shed for forgiveness of sins, we now have been reconciled to God, in righteousness (right standing) belonging to Jesus Christ.
What you just read in the last paragraph are some key components to what the Bible calls, “the Gospel of your salvation (Eph 1:13).” It is God who graciously, and in love, sends His Spirit to baptize His elect, redeemed people. This is new life, the life of God now living in the converted soul. Christians are these recipients of mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Instead of removing us from this terrible world of corruption, God has put every born again believer in Jesus on a mission, to bear witness of the Bible and give the testimony of the great things God has done for us (Acts 1:8).
As the Christian learns biblical truth, he is taught that unsaved people are haters of God (Rom 1:30), haters of Jesus (Jn 7:7) and haters of those called to follow Jesus (Jn 15:18–20; 23–25).
If you are not believing in Jesus, today, as the only Savior of sinners, then you now know why you are repulsed by His name, His book, and His people. So, who exactly are you trusting in to protect you from God’s wrath against criminal sinners like you? His day of judgment is fast approaching and without the full payment for your infinite number of sins, justice will meet you with eternal punishment in the fiery hell of the lake of fire, originally prepared for the devil and his angels (demons).
Your hatred against God, against His Law, against Jesus His Son, and against Christians, as Christ’s followers, is totally unfounded. It is vanity. It is meaningless. It is fruitless futility. Sadly, as with the rest of humanity, utterly deceived by Satan, you have believed a lie about God and His goodness and kindness.
Today, I implore you to open a Bible (preferred translations: KJV; NASB95; ESV) and read of our glorious God who made you. Read about the beautiful victory Jesus Christ achieved over sin, death, judgment, and the second death in His work upon the cross of Calvary. May God deliver you from your futile hatred of Him and give you eyes to see the light of truth, for His glory and so that your joy may be full, in no longer being an enemy of Almighty God (Rom 5:10).
